Adda Marie L. Zafe, Chairman for Social Issues and Advocacies of Adamson University Student Government, said in an interview that the theme of Falcon Fete 2019 is OPM.
“Ang in-aim naming doon is color ng flag, mayroong yellow, mayroong blue, may red and white kung mapapansin niyo rin do’n sa ticket and sa mismong pubs (What we aimed is the color of the flag, there’s yellow, blue, red and white if you can notice it in the ticket and in the pubs itself),” Zafe added.
Main acts in the Falcon Fete 2019 were Sponge Cola, Callalily, Hale, and Soapdish which made this year’s concert special as these bands performed one by one in the previous years but were all gathered this year.
AUSG who are the main organizers of the event struggled in compromising the price of the ticket to ₱150 and selling them to students. Zafe added that the band fees are expensive and that they took risks in getting other bands to perform as other students may not be interested in these.
Another primary event hosted by AUSG hand-in-hand with participating sponsors and Office for Student Affairs (OSA) of AdU is the Falcon Fair which happened for the first time this year last February 22.
Part of the Falcon Fair is the participation of AdU in the “One Billion Rising” dance which aims to stop violence against women. Still in accordance to Falcon Fete 2019, the theme of Falcon Fair is being local. One of the main activities in the event is the competition of booths between various Recognized Student Organizations (RSO) judged by former AUSG President John Joshua P. Mayuga, Mr. Vidsmon Jeremy Sta Maria and Ms. Myrtle Bolo, both Student Discipline coordinators from OSA. The winners of the booth competition are Divergent, Know Your Trash, and Falcon Cup.
Falcon Fair is based from University of the Philippines (UP) Fair while Falcon Fete is a concert which usually happened on the last day of the foundation week to formally close the celebration and serve as a thanksgiving to the students.
